1. Introduction to connecting you with your cycle
DECOLONISE AND UNDOING PATRIARCHY, PERIOD.
Hidden away, unspoken, shame, trauma, nuisance, dirty, taboo, stigma.
New potential life force, the house of humanity, powerful, sacred, special, self-care, ritual.
The way we period today is so different to the way our indigenous ancestors did and we truly believe a return to some of these practices will help you find a deeper connection to yourself, your tupuna (ancestors) and te taiao (the environment).
Our ancestors viewed periods as tapu (sacred) and it was celebrated by the whole community, as it signified the continuation of whanau and hapu (family and extended family) as written about by Dr Ngahuia Murphy.
Come on a journey with us, as we help you find a deeper connection during your ikura (period).
