For AWWA Briefs, the hip measurement is the most important measurement for selecting the best fit, especially if you’rebetween sizes.
Waist - Measure the smallest area of the torso which is above your belly button and below your ribcage.
Hip - Measure the widest part of the hip
With our larger sizing, every brand fit is different. For the best product fit experience with AWWA, rather than relying on numerical sizing, we highly recommend measuring your Hips to check our sizing for your body.
To ensure the leak proof technology does its job our underwear fits slight more snug in the gusset than your regular underwear. Unsure? Email us: hello@awwaperiodcare.com

Perfect I'm recommending these to all my friends whose daughters are about to get their periods. These undies should be in schools not free tampons/pads. Much better in the long term.
Really pleased with Awwa. Exceptional customer service.
I think Awwa is providing a fantastic product for women, and their service is simply exceptional. I purchased teen packs for my daughter who had recently started her period. The mo... view morederate absorbancy have been very good for the start and tail end of her period. She had one period that was super heavy (apparently this happens when girls aren't yet ovulating) and we got caught out (moderates weren't sufficient). She was a bit apprehensive about the ability of the underwear after some leakage. But I was deliberately careful to not make the use of the undies an all or nothing situation - after all, it was only her 2nd period ever. It can take a bit of trial and error, and getting used to your own flow. So she used some pads as well as the undies to get her through. Then we regrouped and I got her a set of the heavier underwear. (Awwa's service was exceptional as I was able to return a set of moderate undies that were too large for her for a set of heavy ones even though strictly-speaking, Awwa were not obliged to.) The heavy ones are much thicker (you'll need a drier to dry them properly) and can hold twice as much. For her 3rd period, she used only the Awwa underwear (both the moderate and heavy ones, depending on the day) and had no issues, no leaks at all, and was very comfortable and confident. I would recommend Awwa to anyone, and have done so to several friends, including those thinking ahead for their to-be-teen daughters. view less
My daughter started her period she did one month with pads before I ordered a set of cotton briefs. Her second period came along and what a difference they made! These cotton undie... view mores are comfy and convenient - the fact that she can head off to school, get on with her day - including regular PE lessons - without even thinking about her period is amazing. Oh how I wish these existed when I was a teenager! They are a big upfront cost - and one we weren’t expecting especially as we had school uniforms, stationary etc to buy - but honestly they are worth every penny and I can’t see her growing out of them anytime soon given how stretchy they are. Highly highly recommend! view less
Q: My mom has a bladder problem and she frequently has accidents and wears pads to avoid them. I’m getting a pair for myself but my question is would these help her as well?
A: Kia Ora. These could be a great option for your mum but it depends on how serious the bladder leakage is. We definitely recommend out underwear for light bladder leakage. Ngā mihi nui.

Thanks for your message. This varies for everyone and will take a bit of getting used to. But similar to a pad or tampon you will start to know when they are feeling full, also if you find that the blood seems to be sitting on top and not absorbing then that is a good indication...view morethat it's time to change. The main thing is that you feel comfortable when wearing you AWWA underwear. Ngā mihi nui.view less

Our smallest size is a 2XS which is a kids/teens 8-10.
It’s really tricky to give exact sizing advice via email but our best suggestion would be to go with your daughters pant size, then hip measurement. Please see our size chart awwathelabel.com/pages/size-guide...view morefor exact measurements. If you do purchase our underwear and the smallest size is too big for you daughter you can return them - just make sure she is trying them on over a clean pair of her own underwear.
Hope that helps! If not, please feel free to get back in touch.
